Strange Fruit
On one knee is a plum- coloured, tangerine-sized bruise. My right knee seems more abstract, mysterious, with a constellation of spots which can only be described as raisin-sized and coloured. Both joints have swelled up to the size of grapefruit. I am looking forward to tonight’s Nuit Blanche event, regardless of how many patches of ice lay waiting, hidden for me to fall over.

Welcome to the Neighborhood!
A homeless man smoking a cigar. A woman wearing a lavish fur coat, smoking Viceroys outside a 24-hour depanneur. A Concordia student handing out conspiracy theory pamphlets (9/11 was an inside job!!!) A 50-something French-Canadian couple walking hand in hand. He carries a Chihuahua under his right arm.
